RECS
(Real Estate
Cyber Specialist)

Deciding on an agent to represent you in the purchase or sale of your most important investment…your home, can be overwhelming. I tried to put myself in your shoes, and asked myself what is important to me in dealing with other agents during an open transaction. Here are some of the qualities that make an escrow go smoothly.

    • Integrity- I find that it is so much easier to work a difficult situation out with another agent when that person feels they owe it to their client to be concerned with the clients welfare and not their own. It is important to take everything into consideration and compromise is always necessary to get that transaction closed. If you have agents that put their clients first, usually any problem can be solved. I have never been taken to court, or even to mediation in one of my sales.
    • Experience- I will be the first one to admit, experience isn’t everything, but extremely important in closing transactions that are more difficult. However, sometimes, dealing with an agent who has a great deal of experience and too many clients, may cause important issues to be overlooked. I have been in the real estate industry since 1985 and I think it is more important to have happy clients than to have lots of borderline clients. Even though I have a transaction coordinator, I still deal personally with my clients and have always stayed on top of my files.
    • Investigative- Your agent has to be willing to help you learn everything you can about the home, you are about to purchase or sell. He or she must be willing to research current values in your neighborhood and then must be present as the home inspectors, the signing of loan documents or other important events during the transaction, so that they can see foresee any problems that might arise.
